timely.you and Odoo
Two directions, one principle: Odoo owns projects, tasks and approvals; the app owns the recording. Both are built and shipping.
Structure in: Odoo → app
App Settings → Structure import sources. Add an Odoo source with URL, database and each person's own API key. The app reads projects and tasks, or the richer odoo-wbs hierarchy with codes and dependencies, and creates or updates projects and activities matched on the Odoo id.
Because the fetch runs with the person's own key, Odoo's record rules decide what they see. A consultant gets their projects, not the company's.
Hours out: app → Odoo
Settings → Integrations. Test the connection, then push a month. Approved actual entries become time entries in the timely.you Odoo module, once each: every entry carries a reference, and a re-push updates rather than duplicates. Errors are recorded per entry and never abort the batch.
Projects imported from Odoo push to their own Odoo project; anything else goes to a default project you choose.
The Odoo side
Three modules by Acunomic for Odoo 18 and 19, Community or Enterprise, self-hosted or on Odoo.sh. They are Python modules, so they cannot be installed on Odoo Online.
